Each participant will pay an extra $1.20 admission to the conclave, which will take place Oct. 27-29 at Camp Maas. The total raised for MAZON will be almost $250. The adventures BBYOers will experience include lear- ning how BBYO's origin, rituals and structure unlock the doors to spirit, en- thusiams, Jewish identity and summer leadership ex- periences, according to Lisa Klein and Todd Wolfe, youth coordinators for the program. Programming will include games, role-playing, seminars and discussions. The youth coordinators have organized committees to plan the programs for fall con- clave. All committees are supervised by the professional staff and the conclave will have adult supervision by the staff and chapter advisers. The Mazon program was chosen to highlight fall con- clave as an opportunity for the members of BBYO to learn about current social needs. Local organizations which MAZON helps support are: The Wellness House, serving low-income AIDS patients in Detroit. The Wellness House received a $7,500 grant to establish a food pantry that distributes free nutritional supplements to AIDS clinics and other organizations; The Pontiac Area Lighthouse in Pontiac, which wsa the beneficiary of a $5,000 grant to buy fruits and vegetables for their food pantry; and Community Food Depots, Society of St. Vincent DePaul, in Oak Park, which received a $5,000 grant to support the 12 Detroit-area food banks which they operate.
