Spectres Set Talk
At Adat Shalom

Rabbi Philip Spectre, ex-
ecutive director of the Masor-
ti (Conservative) movement
in Israel, and his wife, Bar-
bara, instructor at the
Hebrew University, will
speak Oct. 7 at Adat Shalom
Synagogue.
They will deliver the ser-
mon, reporting on the situa-
tion in Israel and the Jewish
moral imperative as it applies
to this season of penitence.
The community is invited.
Mat Shalom will hold a
Havadlah service Oct. 9 as
Yom Kippur comes to a close.
Youth aged 21/2-14 years,
each with a glowing "light,"
will proceed into the
synagogue's main sanctuary
and social hall to meet their
families at 6:45 p.m. Older
teens will assist with organiz-
ing the group, under the
supervision of Adat Shalom
Youth Director Miriam
Starkman.
