elude "Family Ties,"
"Golden Girls," "227," "St.
Elsewhere," "Highway to
Heaven," "The Twilight
Zone," "Webster" and
"Fame." While on the silver
screen, Bernstein performed
in Poltergeist II and For
Keeps.
"It was an honor playing
JoBeth Williams as a little
girl. She is very pretty,"
Bernstein said of the
Poltergeist II star. "They put
soft curls in my hair, and I
had to sleep in them for
days." She also said it was
great working with Molly
Ringwald in For Keeps.
"Molly had the same studio
teacher then as I have now
on the set of 'The People
Next Door."'
Acting with Michael J.
Fox, Michael Landon, the
cast of "The Golden Girls,"
Florence Henderson and Ra-
quel Welch was exciting for
Bernstein. But she admitted,
"I would love to work with
Gene Kelly; he's my idol. I
just adore him."
Some of her commercial
credits include Raisinettes,
Oreo and McDonalds. "I'm a
sweet child," she jokingly
said, referring to all the junk
food commercials in which
she's appeared. Barbie Doll,
Pacific Bell and Country
Time Lemonade are a few of
her other commercials. "I
went to New Jersey to film
the Country Time commer-
cial. We went out to the
country there, and I got
stung by a lot of bees. It
wasn't a pleasant experi-
ence."
In her spare time, Berns-
tein enjoys listening to
music and writing scripts.

"I'm in the middle of writing
a script right now for our
show. After I'm done with it,
I'm going to submit it to the
producers to see if they like
it and what they can do with
it."
Bernstein also likes
"hanging out" with her
friends. "Our parents drop
us off at the mall; we go
skating and like having
slumber parties."

school at Portola Junior
High, a public school in the
San Fernando Valley. "I
couldn't go to each class
because I kept getting
stopped by my friends and
other students, asking, 'Oh,
are you the girl on televi-
sion?' and stuff like that."
Bernstein's mother, Pam,
is her theatrical manager.
She also has a brother, 13-
year-old Robert, who, unlike
his sister, has no interest in
acting, but is heavily into
video games and sports.
A typical day on the set for
Bernstein begins at the
crack of dawn. "I'll come to
the set in the morning and
get a couple hours of school
in and then rehearse. After a
few hours, I'll go to lunch
and come back to rehearse
some more. The producers
then will come in, and we'll
have a run through. I'm on
the set for about 91/2 hours.
