will host the program, "A
New Look At Pirkay Avot,"
before Selichot services 9 p.m.
Saturday.
The program was arranged
by Ruth Raimi, who heads
the cast of Sharon Horwitz,
Susan Rabinovitz and
Sheldon Roth. They will pre-
sent selected readings from
Prikay Avot relevant to
modern life. Following the
program, refreshments will
be served.
The evening will conlcude
with Selichot services con-
ducted by. Rabbi Allan
Meyerowitz and Cantor Louis
Klein, featuring the B'nai
Moshe Men's Choir. There is
no charge for the evening, and
the public is invited.

High Holy Day services in the
assembly hall of the center.
Rabbi Leo Goldman will
deliver the sermons.
The congregation provides
the standard Hebrew-English
machzorim to all worshippers.
Shaarey Shomaym also in-
vites new Jewish immigrants
from the Soviet Union to join
in the High Holy Day services
free of charge.

Inheritance Laws
Focus Of Series

Young Israel of Oak Woods
is hosting -a class on the
Jewish laws of inheritence
and the family.
Taught by Rabbi Eliezer
Cohen, _the course covers the
historical and practidal ap-
plications of the Jewish in-
heritence laws as derived
from the Torah, Talmud, com-
mentaries, codifications and
current interpretations. It
also includes an examination
of the Jewish concept of fami-
ly and family relations.
The class, open to men and
women, begins 45 minutes

Rabbi Allan Meyerowitz of
Congregation B'nai Moshe
will resume his monthly
Torah Study Club sessions
7 p.m. Sunday at the
synagogue. The topic of this
year's series is: "Challenging
God: The Prophets."
Marjorie Lazarus is in
charge of the series.
Refreshments will be served
after each session. Members
and non-members are
welcome. Those planning to
attend should first call the
synagogue office, 548-9000.

Rosh Hashanah
Events Planned

Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
of Bais Chabad of West
Bloomfield will speak on
"Rosh Hashanah: Practical
Guidelines and Esoteric Prin-
cipals" at the Torah Center
8:15 p.m. Monday. The lecture
is part of the lecture series on
basic Judaism.
The Ibrah Center invites
interested Jewish adults to
share a traditional Rosh
Hashanah experience by
spending the holiday with the
Bais Chabad community of
West Bloomfield. Lodging
will be available in communi-
ty homes. For information,
