Chairs Neil and Susie Gross, who were assisted by Marty and Ben Rosenthal, Connie and Jim Colman, gathered a treasure trove of items donated by area businesses. The silent auction, held at the home of Doreen and David Hermelin, featured many interesting items: One year tennis membership donated by Seymour Brode of the Franklin Racquet Club, gift certificates from Roz and Sherm Becker, a day at the spa with Mira Linder. Patron Aliza Nivy successfully bid on a southwestern ceramic pot from Mesa Arts donated by Sue and Ellen Rontal. NCJW LUNCH The National Council of Jewish Women recently held an opening luncheon featuring Ellen Goodman, author of Making Sense and Pulitzer Prize columnist. Goodman spoke on her views of social change. Some of the enlightened audience included: President Barbara Grant, Carol Sue Coden, Shirlee Iden, Joan Fox, Judy Golden and former Detroiter Karen Kurzman of Dallas. TWIN CONTEST The Roberg twins of Oak Park recently participated in the 14th annual Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio. The seven-year-old twins were one set of 2371 twins from around the world. This event is in the Guiness Book of World Records.
