Senior Health Fair
Planned Sept. 21

West Bloomfield Parks and
Recreation will hold its first
senior health fair 10 a.m.
Sept. 21 at Holy Spirit
Church, 4800 Orchard Lake
Road.
This free event includes
presentations by the
American Red Cross,
Michigan Ear Institute,
Beaumont Hospital, a
physical therapist,
nephrologist, podiatrist and
on exercise and pain reduc-
tion. A variety of home
medical and orthopedic ser-
vice exhibits will be on
display along with informa-
tion on senior residences,
social security, arthritis,
Alzherimer's disease and
cancer risk reduction.
Free dental, vision, hearing,
blood pressure, fat fold, blood
sugar and cholesterol screen-
ings will be offered. Flu shots,
administered by the Oakland
County Health Department,
will be available from 10 a.m.
to noon. Mammograms can be
scheduled in advance by call-
ing the parks and recreation
office, 334-5660. Fee for the
mammograms is dependent
on the insurance coverage of
the participant.
Advance registration for the
Health Fair is not required.
Participants need only be 55
years old or older to attend.

at 11 a.m.
"Gentle Movement" with
Cindy Babcock will take
place on Tuesdays at 10 a.m.
and on Thursdays at 2 p.m .
An exercise program for—
those with Parkinson's or
Multiple Sclerosis will take
place on Thursdays at
11:45 a.m.

For Seniors

Beaumont
Hospital's Department of
Older Adult Services is offer-
ing free dental and nutri-
tional screenings for seniors.
The screenings are 1-3 pin.
on Wednesday, at Mature
Minglers, 7273 Wing Lake
Rd., and on Thursday at Holy
Spirit Lutheran Church, 4800
Orchard Lake Rd., West
Bloomfield.
There is no charge, but pre-

Yiddish Circle
Meets Today

The Yiddish Reading Circle,
