Daniel Victor Daniel Victor, son of Judith Dubin and Richard Victor, twinned his bar mitzvah at Mat Shalom Synagogue with Isay Abaev of Baku in the Soviet Union. Isay is the son of Alla and Vladimir Abaev. The family first applied for permission to emigrate to Israel in 1979. They were denied visas the same year and repeatedly thereafter with the reason for the refusal unknown. Lowell Dubrinsky, son of Carol and Seymour Dubrin- sky, became bar mitzvah at Congregation Shaarey Zedek.
