It's time to think about your fall wardrobe. Whether you are
shopping for essential pieces or updating what you already own,
here are the top 12 trends.

ACCESSORIES
Hats and gloves, a pocket
scarf — they finish off an out-
fit. Gloves can be in matching
or contrasting color. Shown:

blazer with feminine
accessories.

TIGHTS
The adventurous will wear
tights (also known as legg-
ings) alone; the less adven-
turous, under a miniskirt. Top
with a mohair tunic, oversized
sweater or man-tailored blazer.
Tights can be in a matching or
contrasting color to the outfit.

EMBROIDERY
In gold braid or metallic
thread, embroidery adds a
touch of ornamentation to
sleeves, collars and pockets.
Other luxury accents are lace
jabots, paisley appliques, em-
broidered crests, beaded
flowers, gold buttons.

MOHAIR
This fuzzy wool fabric is back
in a big way — literally. Over-
sized sweaters and colorful
jackets are hits. Wear with
skinny bottoms, like tights or
slim skirts.

SHAWLS
Oversized scarves add drama
for day and night. Daytime,
they are often tossed over one
shoulder of a coat; for even-
ing, they serve as a wrap.

WRAP/TIE
Even a simple knot will do for
the latest silhouette — wrap
and tie. It can be scarf-tied
pants, a wrapped jumpsuit, or
a knee-length wrapped scarf
skirt that flashes a lot of leg
when you walk.

BARE BACKS
Evenings may be a bit chilly if
the current trend continues.
For evening wear, American
designers scooped out the
backs of sweaters and
dresses. On the plus side, the
bare-back styles do have a
sexy aura.
