The Woman's Auxiliary of
the United Hebrew Shcools,
in conjunction with the
Midrasha College of Jewish
Studies, will present Mashey
Bernstein, who will speak on
"Midrashim and Mythology:
Legends of the Jews" on
Sept. 20 at the United
Hebrew Schools in Southfield.
Bernstein has a Ph.D. in
Jewish-American Literature
and is a guest lecturer at the
University of Michigan. He
has published more than 150
articles, which have appeared
in Jewish magazines, jour-
nals, and newspapers na-
tionally and internationally,
including Newsweek and
Midstream.
At noon, the Women's Aux-
iliary will have their opening
general meeting. Bernstein's
program will follow the
meeting. Guests are welcome.
There is no charge. This
year's auxiliary coordinators
are Florence Gantz, Sadie
Goren and Anna Mickel. For

meeting of the 1989-90 year
noon Wednesday at the
United Hebrew Schools
building.
This meeting is for paid-up
members only. The program
will feature a fall fashion
show given by Tressa's Bouti-
que. The fashions will be
modeled by Morgenthau
members. Luncheon will be
served. Reservations are re-
quired and there is a charge.

The Department of
Michigan Ladies Auxiliary of
Jewish War Veterans will
have a department meeting

Road, Southfield.
Refreshments will be serv-
ed at 7 p.m. and the business
meeting will begin at 8 p.m.
Senior Vice President Martha
Hauptman will report on the
National Ladies Convention,
which was held in Charles-
ton, S.C. Junior Vice Presi-
dent Roz Liner will report on
the combined evening social
event with the Men's Depart-
ment to be held in October.
