'Fashion Extravaganza'
Planned For Sept. 26

The Michigan Region of
Women's American ORT will
hold its annual membership
event 10 a.m. Sept. 26 at Mat
Shalom Synagogue. Open to
all new and re-enrolled
members, the event will in-
clude a fashion show produc-
ed by Leah Marx.

"Fashion Extravaganza"
will feature a full range of
designs from daytime to even-
ing, from full-figured to
cruisewear, from maternity to
children's fashions. Models

Participating merchants
are: Sally's Design Boutique,
Lone Pine Vision, the Mater-

In addition to the luncheon
and fashion show, an avenue
of boutiques will be open from
10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for in-
terested shoppers.

Righteous Gentile
Speaks For Campaign

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Women's Division and
Business and Professional
Division will each host Irene
Opdyke, a Righteous Gentile,
in October.
Opdyke will speak on her
war experiences and freedom
in America at the Women's
Division Lion of Judah fund-
raiser on Oct. 5, at the Bloom-
field Hills home of Maddie
Forbes. Minimum pledge is
$5,000.
She also will be featured at
the Business and Professioal
$2,000 meeting Oct. 4 at the
Bloomfield Hills home of
Rochelle Lieberman.
Opdyke is the recipient of
Israel's Medal of Honor from
Yad Vashem and has earned
the "righteous" title from the
Commission for the Designa-
tion of the Righteous, given to
gentiles who risked their
lives in aiding and saving
Jews during the war.
