Interment in Hollywood, Fla. 1950s, he was never convicted. Mr. Dalitz attended Bishop Elementary and Central High School in Detroit. He owned or was co-owner of in- dustrial laundries in Detroit, Ann Arbor and Cleveland. He is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Brown of Cardiff, Calif.; a sister; and three grandchildren. Interment in Las Vegas. NOLAN LEONARD MAR- CHIONE, 5 days old, of Royal Oak, died Aug. 31. He is sur- vived by his parents, Victor and Linda; twin sister, Kala Arielle; grandparents, Frank and June, Mrs. Arlene Weinberger, and Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth and Sue Weinberger. Eunice Cook of Ann Arbor died Aug. 30. She was 77. She is survived by her hus- band, Dr. Harry; a son and daughter-in-law, 'Temple Beth El's Rabbi Julian and Susan, of West Bloomfield; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry Sears of Royal Oak, Leon and Adelle Sears of Southfield, and Morris and Barbara Sears of West Bloom- field; a sister, Dorothy Sears, of Oak Park; and three grandchildren. HARRIET SCHON MOREE, 48, of Southfield, died Sept. 2. She is survived by her husband, Garnet; her mother, Sylvia Schon of Southfield; a brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Pearl Schon of Oak Park; and a sister and brother-in-law, Adrienne and Sidney Finkels- tein of Valencia, Calif. JEROME ROBERT NEVIN, 71, of Southfield, died Sept. 2. He is survived by a brother, Paul of Long Island, N.Y.; sisters and brother-in- law, Florence and Clarence Jacobs, and Eleanor Nevin, all of Southfield. HELEN B. STEVENS, 84, of Farmington Hills, died Sept. 4. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Peter Glinter of Far- mington Hills; a sister, Lillian Birndorf of Milford; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. MORRIS YAGOW, 93, of Detroit, died Sept. 1. No known survivors. Morris Dalitz Morris Dalitz, 89, a former Detroit bootlegger, died Aug. 31 in Las Vegas. Mr. Dalitz, who settled in 1949 in Las Vegas where he became part owner of the Desert Inn and the Stardust Hotel, was in the 1950s label- ed "absolute boss" of the Cleveland underword. He was said to have close ties to organized crime figures in- cluding Benjamin "Bugsy" Siegel and Meyer Lansky. Although Mr. Dalitz admitted under oath that he had been a bootlegger and operated il- legal gambling houses in Cleveland and Detroit in the Eunice Cook Rhoda Malinoff Rhoda Malinoff, an art teacher in the Detroit Public Schools for more than 33 years, died Sept. 1. She was 61. Mrs. Malinoff, a former Detroiter, lived in McMillan, Mich. She received her bachelor's degree in fine arts from Wayne State University in 1949. For 14 years, she was an art teacher at Beaubian Junior High School. In Detroit, Mrs. Malinoff was a member of the Detroit Federation of Teachers, the Detroit Art leachers Associa- tion, the Michigan Council of the Arts, Women in the Arts, the Founders Society of the Detroit Institute of Arts and the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington, D.C. After moving in 1982 to McMillan, she became active in the Luce County Democratic Party and in creating art for the logging museum and the Native In- dian American Program. She was instrumental in the establishment of a shop for native Indian art and started an art program at Newberry High School. The Detroit Public Schools honored Mrs. Malinoff a number of times for her ex- cellence in art teaching. She leaves her husband, Allen; a son and daughter-in- law, Dr. Herbert and Lynn of Ann Arbor; daughters, Julie and Lauren of Raleigh, N.C.; sister and brother-in-law, Hermine and Howard Silver of Franklin; and two grandsons. During the coming week Yeshiva Beth Yehudah will observe the yahrzeits of the following departed friends, with the traditional memorial prayers, recitation of kaddish and studying of mishnayos.
