Salzbank-Solomon

Stephanie Solomon and
Robert Salzbank were mar-
ried at a double ceremony
that recently took place at
Shelter Rock Jewish Center
in New York. Rabbi Myron
Fenster of Roslyn, N.Y., and
Rabbi E.B. Freedman of Oak
Park officiated. That was
followed by a ceremony at
Mat Shalom Synagogue in-
Farmington Hills. Rabbi
Elliott Pachter officiated.
The bride is the daughter of
Ernest and Gloria Solomon of
Franklin. Parents of the
bridegroom are Julius and
Claire Salzbank of Roslyn,
N.Y.
Attending both ceremonies
were the parents of the bride

and bridegroom and the
bridal party. The bride was
attended by her sisters-in-law,
Karen Salzbank and Barbara
Salzbank, both of New York,
and Teresa Solomon of Lans-
ing and Erica Emmer, the
bride's cousin. Ushers were
the bridegroom's brothers,
AlanSalzbank and Michael
Salzbank of New York, and
the bride's brother, Shelby
Solomon of Lansing. The
bridegroom's nephew, Josef
Salzbank of New York served
as a junior usher.
After a honeymoon in the
Hawaiian Islands and San
Francisco, the couple are
residing in Port Washington,
N.Y.

U-M Hillel Center
Activities Scheduled

The B'nai B'rith Founda-
tion at the University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor, located
in the Mandell L. Berman
Center, will hold mass
meetings for eight different
Hillel affiliated groups. On
Sept. 11, Tagar (6 p.m.), Unit-
ed Jewish Appeal (7 p.m.), and
Progressive Zionist Caucus
(8 p.m.) will hold their first
meetings of the academic
year. On Sept. 12, Mitzvah
Project (6 p.m.), Student
Struggle for Soviet Jewry
(7 p.m.), and Hill Street
Cinema (7 p.m.) will meet. On
Sept. 13, Hill Street Forum
(7 p.m.) will gather. On
Sept. 14, Union of Students

for Israel (7:30 p.m.) will
meet.
From Sept. 7-15, registra-
tion is open for fall courses in
the Jewish Learning Center
at Hillel. Classes begin Sept.
18 and meet for nine weeks
(except mini-courses). The
academic year of the Hillel
Jewish Learning Center
parallels the semesters at the
University of Michigan.
Classes in Hebrew, Yiddish,
Basic Judaism, Talmud, the
Torah portion of the week,
and more will be offered this
semester. Call the foundation,
769-0500, for information.
Registration must take place
at Hillel during office hours.
