in Days of Rage that his fami-
ly was told it "could return
home" from the camp,
presumably to Palestine and
presumably in 1948, in "one
to two weeks?! But the inter-
viewer, the filth's pro-
ducer/director/writer Jo
Franklin-Trout, does not seek
answers that might con-
ceivably compromise the
film's politics: "Why did the
family flee Palestine? Did
anyone tell it to flee? Who
told the family it could return
in 14 days? Was the family
angry at the Arab armies
whose defeat in 1948 made it
impossible for them to return
home? Was it angry that it
was forced by the Egyptian
government to remain in the
refugee camps from 1948 to
1967? Was it angry that Arab
governments have continual-
ly opposed in the United Na-
tions every effort by Israel to
improve life in the camps?"
