Since the success of filming Presumed Innocent, she is now negotiating with two other studios producing major films. She believes that films have the potential to help the image of Detroit and boost the economy. Edison lives downtown in an apartment with a view of the Detroit River and Wind- sor. She enjoys living and socializing downtown, but would prefer a more active Jewish community in her neighborhood. TIDBITS MS SAIL Alvin Wagner graciously donated his boat Brownies III for an evening cruise to benefit multiple sclerosis hosted by Ray and Barbara Horenstein and Geraldine Granet. Some of the MS supporters on the cruise from the Jefferson Beach Marina to downtown Detroit included: Hy and Esther Horenstein, Shirley and George Agree, Bob and Lois Benson, Harriet and Fred Rosen, Jeff and Linda Cole, Bill and Liz LaKritz and Marion and David Grant. Among the guests were Rabbi Tolwin's six children and his wife, Aviva; Rabbi Eliezer Cohen and his wife, Aviva; Hy and Delotes Brown; and Dave and Lottie Tanzman. Tanzman, who works with the Michigan Department of Labor, had his own festivities that day: he celebrated his 70th birthday. E I LOCAL NEWS Immi Scrabble Tourney To Benefit MDA Scrabble players, local and from around the country, will compete in a Labor Day Marathon tournament for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Organized through the ef- forts of Gary Moss, director of Scrabble Players Club 350 and recent intradivisional winner in the 1989 National Scrabble Iburnament in New York City, this 24-games- in-24-hours marathon will test the stamina of word mavens and aficionados.
