Rap Singer Rejoins
Group Despite Remarks

Kansas City Mo. (JTA) —
The rap music group Public
Enemy has done an about-
face, regrouping and perform-

fessor Griff, the group
member who was supposedly
fired after public anti-Semitic
statements.
In New York, Lyor Cohen,
chief operating officer of Rush
Artists Management, the
group's management com-
pany, confirmed that Public
Enemy had reunited, after
they had announced in June
that they were "temporarily
disbanding?'
In a brief interview Aug. 3
in the lobby of Kansas City's
Hyatt Regency Crown Center,
Griff said he stood by his past
remarks, saying that they
were "100 percent pure."
Griff said he saw no con-
tradiction between the
group's anti-racist stance and
his anti-Semitic remarks.
He again cited Henry Ford's

Ethiopian Jews
Get More Aid

given $70,000 to the

Ethiopian Jews as part of a
cooperative agreement be-
tween the two organizations.
The Jewish Agency money
will help expand AAEJ's
family reunification.
There are an estimated
15,000 Jews left stranded in
Ethiopia, after the massive
"Operation Moses" airlifts of
1984 and 1985 rescued 8,000.
