BET. MIDDLEBELT & 14 MILE Farmington Hills 855-9463 B ig favorite in the West Bloomfield area is Boneyard on Orchard Lake Road and 14 Mile .. . with its broasted or bar-b-q chicken and ribs . . . The com- fortable intimacy coupled with a very clean atmosphere throughout are customer favorites . . . Food served is prepared from high quality . . . ask Iry Fenkell of Fenkell Packing. It's a very unpretentious place . . . brown and green col- orings and pictures on walls . . . but a true family restaurant with value received. The Boneyard in West Bloomfield can't forget its an- niversary . . . opened Oct. 13 . . . This will be 10 years for the popular spot seating 180. Its broasted chickens are marinated overnight, then lightly battered in a special flour for crispness . . . A heat unit sears the chicken, seal- ing in flavorful natural juices ,and cooks them to the bone in about 10 minutes. On request, Boneyard will remove the skin of bar-b-q chicken and, if desired, add bar-b-sauce on the skinless bird . . . This is a big plus feature. It's open seven days . . . Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m. to midnight. By the Oct. 13 anniversary, Boneyard on Orchard Lake Road will probably have a new look . . . Plans are for a remodeling that will retain its family atmosphere in a fresh environment. The first Boneyard, on Iblegraph and Warren, Dear- born Heights, has been open 15 years come November .. . A third one was opened in February of 1986 on Plymouth and Merriman,. Livonia. Chris Djordjevic, originator, is father of Steve Djordjevic and Danny Djordjevic and father-in-law of Simon Ristic . . . All Boneyards are operated by them . . . and when sons are busy in the kit- chen, their spouses, Linda, Steve's wife; Gail, Danny's wife; and Frolika, Simon's wife, work in the front . . Chris oversees and drops in at all three places plus working alongside the boys making sure everything is okay. Our waitress at the Boneyard on Orchard Lake Road, West Bloomfield, Ann Rainey, is well-trained for ef- ficiency . . . The fine broasted chicken we ordered came with a large cold and crisp dinner salad, toasted bread and choice of cottage fries of bak- ed potatoes . . . Choosing the cottage fries was a good selec- tion . . . Good to know that the very ample portions are with little grease . . . entree included . . . and so important the noted cleanliness. TOO BAD only members and guests can enjoy the food by Michael Russell, certified master chef and Culinary Olympics gold medalist, at Southfield's Skyline Club atop the 28th floor of Pruden- tial 'Dawn Center. Our recent experience there was with the sales portion of the team celebrating upcom- ing In Style magazine which has been receiving much wide acclaim. Arthur Horwitz, associate publisher, hosted the cocktail hour and dinner for his sales team plus business manager Dan Chovenac and sales secretary Laura Prevost .. . (Adrian Williams, Dharlene Norris, Sue Brooks, Cindi Metz, Kathy Johnson, Rick Nessel and Randy Marcuson) . . . All enjoyed the lovely set- ting and very fine dinner. My Norwegian salmon was superb . . . very tasty and tender . . . And in keeping with the image of a great chef like Michael Russell, it should not be a passing note that the excellent Kona coffee bean is ground at Skyline Club for its aromatic decaf coffee. ••■
