Haimish.
It's Yamasaki outside. Haimish inside.
Outside, we show our public face. It's a bit formal, we know And more than a
little formidable. Inside it's very different. Inside we share. We share prayers and singing.
(Our new cantor, Gail Hirschenfang, is exceptional and has brought a special exuber-
ance to our services and school.) Inside, our new rabbi, Daniel Polish, sets the tone of
warmth and involvement. He guides our religious quest and helps us keep our heritage
alive within each one of us.
Our children are actively involved in the temple now They're often included in
services. Parents and children share times of study and exploration. Together we go to
class and on retreats.
Inside we share laughter, ourselves and the kinship of belonging. Inside, there's
always something going on. And there's always room for another family. We only look
cold from the outside. You're welcome to come in.
You'll find it's nice and haimish.
