Chiropractic Health Hints

BY DR. STANLEY LEVINE, D.C.

YOUR SPINE AND SHOULDER ARM PAIN!

system is the knowledge that

"the judgement is God's."
Indeed, a human judge is
called in the Bible Elohim,
which also means God, to im-
press upon the judge that he
is ruling not on the basis of
his own subjective impres-
sions but on the basis of
Divine objective law; to as
great an extent as possible,
the judge must endeavor to
stand in God's place, listening
carefully and without precon-
ceived prejudices, dispensing
justice with equity and
courage.

In the synagogue of the
renowned Rav Yisrael of
Salarit, founder of the
Mussar movement, there was
a poor ignorant tailor who
stood in prayer for an even
longer amount of time than
the rabbi and rocked to and
fro with ecstatic fervor. When
asked how someone who
could barely read Hebrew and
hardly understood even the
plain meaning of the words,
could pray with such
kavanah, internal commit-
ment, he gave the following
response: "I'm the most
stupid, porest member of this
congregation. The beadle
doesn't even know my Hebrew
name and my father's name
to call me up for an aliyah. No
one has time or patience to
listen me.
"I once even made an ex-
periment. I stood in the
market place early one
Thursday morning and cor-
nered Reb Shmuel, the
banker, 'Do you have time to
listen to me?' I asked, but he
walked on so quickly that he
didn't even hear my request.
"Then I stopped Reb Dovid,
the chief judge, and asked:
`Do you have time to listen to
me?' He at least didn't pass
me by, but hastily referred me
to his secretary, who would
never dream to give me an
appointment.
"I even accosted you, the
great Rav Yisrael, with my
request for time to listen to
me, and although you smiled
at me more warmly than the
others, you had to rush off to
lecture your students.
"Apparently, therefore, no
one important has time to
listen to me, the lowest of con-
gregants, not Reb Shmuel the
banker, not Reb Dovid the
judge, and not Rav Yisrael of
Salant.
"But I have news for you,
great rabbi. When I take a
prayer book in hand, the
same prayer book taken by
the banker, the judge, and the
rabbi, and when I wrap

myself in a prayer shawl —
the same prayer shawl taken
by the banker, the judge and
the rabbi, and I stand in
prayer before God, God does
have time to listen to me.
"And if I stand at my
prayers longer than you,
great Rabbi of Salant, God
has more time to listen to me
than to listen to you. Now do
you understand my fervor?"
"The judgement is God's."
We all stand equal before
God. We must listen to, and
treat, each individual equal-
ly before God. And then we
shall have "returned Your
jduges as they were original-
ly and Your advisers as they
were in the beginning, for on-
ly then will Jerusalem be
called the City of Justice." 0

Shoulder and arm pain with varying degrees of immobility .. .
constitute the most frequently recognized symptoms of structural
defects in the lower neck and upper spine.
Should a spinal segment in the lower neck he forced from its
normal alignment or beyond its normal range of movement by a fall,
accident or by postural stress, the segment may partially close the
tiny nerve openings between adjacent segments. The nerves that pass
through these tiny openings supply the shoulder, neck, -arm, upper
back and chest muscles.
DR. LEVINE
Frequently the condition begins as stiff and tender muscles
across the top of the shoulders. Over a period of weeks, the condition progresses to a
burning ache and may extend into the neck and head. Neck and shoulder movement
becomes increasingly painful and difficult. Attempts to shave or comb your hair may cause
sharp -pain down the arm and tingling in the fingers. Weakness and fatigue tremor of the
arm may accompany the pain. The muscles across the chest may become tender. The symp-
toms are made more severe by coughing or sneezing.
Experience has shown that acute and chronic shoulder and arm pain syndromes res-
pond extremely well to the specialized care offered by the chiropractic profession.

Halbrah, will lead a discus-
sion about Tisha B'Av noon

juxtaposition of Jewish
belonging in America and
mourning for the loss of na-
tional identity.

ticipants should bring a
