Abe Letvin, president of Detroit's oldest body com- pany, Hulett Body Co., a third generation business, died Ju- ly 27. He was 74. A mechanical engineer, Mr. Letvin ran the business for years. Mr. Letvin also was a charter member of Adat Shalom Synagogue, a member of the B'nai B'rith Detroit Lodge and Century Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Betty; three sons, Marc, Brian of Sedalia, Cola, and Tom; one brother, Albert; and eight grandchildren. BASYA SHTERN, 87, of Oak Park, died July 28. She is survived by one son, Sam Stern of Brooklyn, N.Y.; one daughter, Mrs. Yitzchok (Ita) Prikupets of Oak Park; one sister, Rachel Apps of Miami Beach, Fla.; three grand- children and two great-grand- children. 96, former Detroiter of El Paso, Texas, died July 26.
