Starts At JPM

The Senior Adult Depart-
ment of the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Jewish Community
Center reactivated the Yid-
dish Reading Circle. The
group of Yiddishists,
facilitated by Sol Grandier,
discusses Yiddish literature
and current events 10:15 a.m.
every Friday in Room 2.
The Erev Shabbat program
will be conducted by Lillian
Freedland 12:30 p.m. today in
Jaffe Hall.
The - Let's Talk About
Israel" lecture/discussion
series will take place 1 p.m.
Tuesday in the Assembly
Hall. Fabs Kaldobsky will
discuss his expriences during
1945-1950. Following the lec-
ture, the first part of the
movie The Helen Morgan
Story will be shown.
Hy Shenkman will lecture
on the Righteous Gentiles for
the Yiddish Culture Club
12:30 p.m. Thursday in Jaffe
Hall.
Abe Gornbein will facilitate
the Press Review, a current
events discussion group,
12:30 p.m. Thursday in
Room 15.

Moonwalking
For Bonds

The Metro Detroit New
Leadership Division of State
of Israel Bonds will hold its
third annual black-tie cock-
tail and supper dance 7 p.m.
Aug. 31 in the main exhibit
hall of the Detroit Science
Center.
Richard Partrich and Brian
Schubot co-chair the division.
With models of NASA space
capsules and rockets as a
backdrop, plus many hands-
on exhibits, "Bonds Trek III"
will feature "moonwalking"
and listening to Ursula
Walker and the Buddy Bud-
son Quartet, according to
Lauren Bruss, co-chair with
Marcia Ross of the event.
There is a couvert — "Earth
currency only, please, and the
couvert includes valet park-
ing for your starship," said
Bruss.
"Bonds Trek III" will be
dedicated to pioneering scien-
tists of Israel and scientific
discoveries being realized
there through major research
and development funding by
Israel Bonds.
Reservation deadline is
Aug. 25. For reservations and
