Scrabble Event
Helps MDA

The first Labor Day Scrab-
ble marathon to benefit
Muscular Dystrophy, will be
held Sept. 2 and 3 at Chan-
nel 2.
Club members will compete
for the marathon champion-
ship while earning pledges to
MDA by their sponsors. All
are invited to play in the
24-hour marathon or to
challenge a club player in a
game to benefit MDA.
Gary Moss, director of
Scrabble Club 350, will head
the tournament. To play, help

Will Speak

Three Michigan mystery
authors will discuss their
works and their writing at
Borders Book Shop in Novi at
6 p.m. Sunday.

Kakonis, author of Michigan
Roll; and William X. Kienzle,
author of Eminence, will par-
ticipate in the panel
discussion.
