Tam Netters
Lead Series

Tam O'Shanter Country
Club defeated Knollwood, 5-3,
in interclub tennis doubles
competition last week to take
a 2-0 lead in the home-and-
home series.
Tam, which went unbeaten
last year, was to host
Franklin Hills July 20 and
Knollwood on Aug. 3. The
series is in its fifth year.
Larry Peterson, tennis pro
at Tam, said he has tried to
get interclub matches with
neighboring clubs Pine Lake
and Orchard Lake, but was
told their Suburban League
and intraclub schedules keep
them too busy.

Hoop-It-Up Meet
Deadline Nears

Registration deadline for
the 3-on-3 Pizza Hut/Diet
Pepsi Hoop-It-Up basketball
tournament benefitting the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation-
Metropolitan Detroit Chapter
is Aug. 2
The tourney, featuring four-
player teams, will be Aug.
18-20 on West Grand
Boulevard. Winner of the top
division will compete in the
national finals in Las Vegas
in December.
There is a registration fee.
