Plans In Israel?

The Association of Reform
Zionists of America (ARZA)
recently published a brochure
for Reform families planning
a bar or bat mitzvah in Israel.
The brochure, which is free,
includes information about
Reform congregations in
cities and towns throughout
Israel. It also lists Reform kib-
butzim and sites such as the
Peace Forest and the Hebrew
Union College in Jerusalem
available for b'nai mitzvah.

Perry, Fla. — Anti-racist
demonstrators this week
brought to an end a white
supremicist protest of a
Florida market selling kosher
foods.
Some 200 anti-racists car-
ried signs in support of Tom's
Foods, which sells the kosher
products, to confront the 10
white supremicists.
The supremicists, who in-
cluded a number of Ku Klux
Klan members, said they
were protesting because U.S.
companies are being "in-
filtrated" through the cer-
tification of kosher products.

German Quits
After Remark

Bonn (JTA) — A member of
the Frankfurt City Council
resigned last week after the
interior minister of the
federal state of Hesse brought
charges against him for mak-
ing a pernicious anti-Semitic
remark.
The councilman, Erich Gut-
jahr, belongs to the neo-Nazi
National Democratic Party,
which created a stir by poll-
ing 6.6 percent of the
municipal vote in the
Frankfurt elections on March
12.
Both the public prosecutor
in Frankfurt and the Central
Council of Jews in Germany,
the umbrella organization of
Jewish communities in the
Federal Republic, have in-
itiated legal action against
Gutjahr for alleged incite-
ment against Jews.
The NPD councilman was
quoted in an interview
published in the Frankfurter
Allgemeine Zeitung last week
as saying, "The Jews are rob-
bing us again."
Frankfurt has the largest
Jewish population of any city
in the Federal Republic.
