A drypoint, mezzotint, watercolor "Triassic III" done by Prof. Jim Nawara, acting chairman of the WSU depart- ment of art and art history, won a purchase award, his third. The work will be pur- chased for the Alma College Collection. WSU alumna June Klepach and MFA degree candidate Nancy Patek also have artwork in the exhibition. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Figurative Art Focus Of Display The Art Show Gallery at Sugar Tree in West Bloom- field will exhibit recent works of figurative art by such ar- tists as Nitza Flantz, Ty Wilson, P.H. Wong, de Krayevska, Paulette Lust, Yves Mahler, Robin Morris, Earl Linderman and Shimon Okshteyn. Media include lithographs, serigraphs and original pain- tings. The display will run through July. TRAVEL Ann Arbor Day 'Dip Set The Jewish Community Center of Metropolitan Detroit announces that limited seating still exists for- its trip to Ann Arbor on July 19. Lunch will be at the Gan- dy Dancer Restaurant. Guests may shop at the Ker- rytown, browse through the Ann Arbor's Farmers' Market and attend a command per- formance at the Kerrytown Concert House. Transportation will be via air-conditioned motor coach. There will be pick-ups at the Jimmy Prentis Morris Building at 8:30 a.m. and at the Maple/Drake Building at 9:15 a.m. There is a fee which. includes transportation and the performance. Virginia Trip Is Planned A five-day escorted tour of historical Virginia is on the West Bloomfield Parks and Recreation extended travel agenda this fall. The trip is planned for Sept. 28-Oct. 2.
