Some 500 Jewish single
adults from the Detroit metro
area are expected to attend
the annual Jewish Communi-
ty Center Singles' annual
Summer Backyard Bar-B-Q
Bash at the Maple/Drake
Building, 7 p.m. July 19.
A barbecue dinner, live
music, dancing and a cash bar
will be featured. Dress is
casual.

A trip to Ottawa, Canada,
for whitewater rafting and
camping has been scheduled
July 13-16 for Southfield
Jewish singles by Scott Lantz
and Ron Rose.
There is a fee, which in-
cludes rafting and camping in
Ottawa and Toronto, tent ren-
tals, six meals and transpor-
tation, the organizers said.
Registration deadline is July
11.

'Rendezvous II'
Set For Novi

Popular movies aren't the
only ones spawning sequels
these days.
Like Indiana Jones series
and Ghostbusters, the Jewish
Community Center Singles
for ages 25-45 is following its
successful June "Rendez-
vous" at the Novi Hilton with
"Rendezvous II" 7 p.m.
Wednesday at the same
location.
A buffet and cash bar will
be available in Whisper's
Lounge, with music by Reflec-
tions beginning at 9.

Another
"Let's Get
Physical Night" — a follow-up
to the same event held earlier
this year — is scheduled for
July 15 at 9 p.m. at the
Maple/Drake Building.
Activities include
volleyball, floor hockey, swim-
ming, basketball and raquet-
ball. Participants must bring
their own raquets and
goggles.
There is an admission
charge. Make reservations by

noon July 14.
The Singles have extended

until July 14 the registration
deadline for the Toronto trip
July 28-30, in which Detroit
participants will meet with
Jewish singles from Ann Ar-
bor and Buffalo, N.Y., as well
as the host city.
An entire weekend of events
has been scheduled. For infor-

The Singles and Temple
Emanu-El of Oak Park are co-
sponsoring a Shabbat service
and Oneg at 8 p.m. tonight.
At the Oneg, Shirley Berman,
social services director of the
Wayne State University
Psychology Clinic, will
facilitate a discussion of
positive attitudes.
A summer dinner and card-
and-board-game party is
scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Sun-
day at Frank Snower's
residence. Participants are
asked to bring a dish of their
choice. There is a charge.
