Svetlana Shpilman.
Svetlana is the daughter of
Emanuil and Violeta
Shpilman. They have applied
for permission to emigrate to
Israel, but were refused for
reasons unknown.
Lisa has written many let-
ters to her Soviet Jewish
friend, one of which she
knows Svetlana has received.

Volleyball Slated
The Jewish Community
Center Singles (25-45) are
sponsoring co-ed softball and
volleyball games at 10 a.m.
every Sunday.
There is a fee for first-time
participants. Locations are
subject to change.
A Huron River canoe trip
and potluck lunch is schedul-
ed with the Ann Arbor
Singles on Sunday.
Carpools will meet at the
Maple/Drake Building at 9:30
a.m. There is a fee, and a
lunch item is required.
Reservations are being
taken for a whitewater raft-
ing weekend July 13-16 on
the Ottawa River in Canada.
