Operations at the proposed facility are scheduled to begin in the fall. "Because 45 to 50 percent of the metropolitan Detroit Jewish community lives in West Bloomfield, Franklin and Farmington Hills, we see the need to make ourselves more accessible to these potential clients," said Alan Goodman, newly elected ex- ecutive director of both organizations. Goodman said the annual operating cost for the satellite is expected to be $90,000. A site has not yet been iden- tified. Goodman said one op- tion would be leasing space at a temple or synagogue. "We aren't as much con- cerned about where it will be 1 110/0 1 Z F IEF R T OE YEA as much as we are about what it will offer the community," Goodman said. Also at the meeting, the board discussed ongoing pro- jects, including: services to aging, now serving 371 clients; the Skillman grant of $190,000 to provide specializ- ed intervention for family violence in the community; and the election and re- election of board membes and officer of each agency. Appointed to the Resettle- ment bord were: Herbert Schien, Anaruth Bernard, Barbara Nusbaum, Gloria Cohen, Mark Hauser, Ber- nard Midnell, Bernard Stollman, president; Rabbi Lane Steinger, vice president; Judith Cantor, treasurer; and George Tarnoff, secretary.
