Bar-Han Women
Have Annual Donor

The American Women for
Bar-Ilan University will have
their annual donor Tuesday,
hosted by Lauren Liss, an-
nounced Joyce Borovoy and
Beverly Liss, co-chairmen.
Proceeds from the donor
will go to rehabilitate and
refurbish one of the original
two dormitories on campus,
both of which were built by
Detroiters.
Entertaiment at the donor
will be provided by flutist
Ginka Gerova-Ortega and
guitarist Michael Stockdale.
A first prize winner of
"Young Concert Artists" corn-
petition in Bulgaria, Ginka-
Ortega was graduated with
distinction from Varna State
School of Music, continuing
her musical career in the U.S.
as a grant and scholarship
winner at Oberlin Conser-
vatory of Music, Wayne State
Univedrsity and the Univer-
sity of Michigan School of
Music.
During her career she has
worked and collaborated with
Marcel Moyse and Jean
Pierre Rampal, as well as in-
vited to perform for govern-
ment leaders, presidents,
kings, foreign dignitaries, be-
ing the only American to per-
form for the awarding
ceremonies"La Donna del
Mondo" (The Woman of the
World) in Rome, sponsored by
the International Council of
Women, UNESCO and the
president of Italy.
Stockdale is a graduate of
London's Royal college of
Music, where he studied with
Charles Ramierz and Patrick
Bashford and participated in
master classes by John Mills
and Julian Byzantine.
Stockdale has performed ex-
tensively throughout the
United Kingdom, the United
States and Canada both as a
soloist and chamber musi-
cian. He has also been
featured on English and
American television and
radio networks, is a frequent
performer with the Detroit-
based Lyric Chamber Enxem-
ble, and has appeared in solo
recitals at the Detroit In-
stitute of Arts.
The organizing committee
for the donor includes: Janice
