The signature event, the Hudson's Freedom Festival Fireworks, is scheduled for June 30, with a rain date of July 1. Additional Detroit events include: "A Fort Night," an evening of entertainment at historic Ft. Wayne; Cinema Canada, a showing of Can- ada's award-winning films at the Detroit Institute of Arts; a Children's Day celebration in the Cultural Center; the 10k Freedom Festival Run and a wealth of free enter- tainment on Hart Plaza. The Freedom Festival George E. Van Memorial Renaissance Regatta will set sail again this year in con- junction with the American Cancer Society and will give participants a sneak preview of the new St. Aubin Park and Marina slated to open on July 1. The new citizens swearing- in ceremony officially welcomes over 200 new citizens to the U.S. Windsor highlights include "Arts Alive," featuring music, dance and other forms of entertainment; a Monte Carlo casino; Voyager Village, and authentic camp of Voyager Indians; the Canada Day Parade, and live enter- tainment featuring a carnival on the riverfront. Labor History Tours Set The Detroit Historical Department will feature two tours focusing on sites that are prevalent in Detroit's labor and industrial history. The tours will be held on Saturday and July 22 and will leave from the Detroit Historical Museum at 10 a.m. There is a charge. Each tour will last about 2 1/2 hours. Concerts Begin In Oak Park Oak Park will begin its 11-week concert series, "Music-in-the-Park," on Tues- day at 7:30 p.m. The series, held in Shepherd Park, will open its 14th season with a performance by the Oak Park Civic Chorus.
