Midrasha Offers Classes
Via Summer Institute

The Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies will present
its 1989 Summer Institute of
classes beginning June 20.
Two courses are being offered
in effective classroom
management.
Corinne Stavish, lecturer in
speech communication and
public speaking at Wayne
State University and
Lawrence Technological
University, will teach a
course entitled, "What's That
You Say?" This workshop is
designed to build more effec-
tive listening and com-
munication skills. The course
will meet Tuesdays and
Thursdays, at 9 a.m.
Refreshments will be served
at 8:45 a.m.
Dr. Mashey Bernstein, lec-
turer in English at the
University of Michigan, will
teach a course entitled,
"Judaism, TV and Me — The
Use of Video in the Class-
room." Sessions will include,
"Movies and Ethics," "An Ap-
proach to the Holocaust
Using Movies," and "An Ap-
proach to the Bible Using
Movies." The course will meet
on Wednesdays, beginning
June 21 at 7:30 p.m. Both
courses are offered for
Midrasha, Hebrew teacher
certification credit.
Rabbi Rod Glogower, ad-
junct lecturer in Judaic
studies and rabbi of the Hillel
Orthodox Union at the
University of Michigan, will
teach "The History of an
Halakhic Idea." This course
will be offered on Tuesdays
and Thursdays at 11 a.m.
Students taking this course
can obtain Midrasha MHL
credit, Midrasha teacher cer-
tification credit or Wayne
State University credit.
