Main, Ann Arbor. Handblown glass goblets, champagne flutes, vases, bowls and platters by such na- tionally known artists as Josh Simpson, Steven Smyers, Randy Strong and Thomas Buechner III will be on display along with ceramics by Polly Frizzell, Jenny Lind, Dina Angel-Wing and Marek Cecula, including salt and pepper shakers, tea sets, vases and bird houses. Turned wood vessels and boxes from exotic woods as well as bronze candlesticks and pentatonic scale wood chimes also are in this show. Wedding bands, engagement rings and other handcrafted jewelry will also be on display. There also will be Chinese wedding baskets, hanging carved wood fish from Japan, painted and carved wooden Dewi from Bali, temple toys from India, wood elephant puppets from Thailand and more. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Tues- day, Wednesday, and Satur- day; from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday. Calligraphy Show Planned The Birmingham Com- munity House will display the calligraphy of Millie Janka during June as a part of its on-going art show. An instructor at The Com- munity House, Janka will show various forms and styles of calligraphy framed with paper sculpture, nature prints and natural items such as pressed flowers. (
