Gilda Radner, Comedienne Gilda Radner, a Detroit native who delighted au- diences with her comic characters on "Saturday Night Live" from 1975 to 1980, died May 20 at age 42. A graduate of what is now University Liggett, Miss Radner attended the Univer- sity of Michigan, but left for an acting career prior to graduation. Her first profes- sional appearance was in the Toronto production of Godspell. She later became a member of the Toronto com- pany of the Second City im- provisational troupe. She continued her career as a writer and performer for the New York-based "National Lampoon Radio Hour" in the early 1970s, and in 1975 was selected for the original cast of "Saturday Night Live." Miss Radner also appeared on Broadway in 1979 in Gilda Live, which was later produc-
