Friday Morning features at
the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building of the Jewish Corn-
munity Center will offer a
variety of Yiddish films in
June. The series sponsored by
the senior adult department,
will begin with Mamele (Lit-
tle Mother) starring Molly
Picon on June.2
The Center will be closed
June 9 in observance of
Shavuot.
Yidl Mitn Fidl (Yidl with a
Fiddle), an all-time favorite
Yiddish language musical-
comedy, will be featured June
16. Almonds and Raisins will
be shown June 23 and Jewish
Soul Music, the Art of Giora
Feidman will be the June 30
feature. .
All films will be shown at
10 a.m. in th assembly hall of
the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Building. There is no charge.

Following the lecture/
discussion, the movie, A
Thousand Dozen, will be
shown.
Yom Yerushalayim, Jeru-
salem Reunification Day, will
be celebrated in the Yiddish
Culture Club on Thursday at
12:30 p.m. in Jaffe Hall. Can-
tor Sidney Resnick, soprano
Avra Weiss accompanied by
Lillian Zellman, will
entertain.

Support Group
For Widowed
The Jewish Community
Center sponsors a widowed
support group each Wednes-
day at 10:30 a.m. at the Jim-
my Prentis Morris Building.
Facilitator Anne Singer leads
the group in discussion of
changes in life style, coping
with loneliness and develop-
ing self-confidence.
Speakers on finance, nutri-
tion, emotional well-being
and other relevant topics are
featured each month. For in-

Senior Choir
Will Perform
The culminating Sunday
program of the senior adult
department of the Jimmy
Prentis Morris Building of
the Jewish Community
Center will take place on
Sunday at 2 p.m. in Jaffe Hall
when the choir, directed by
Vivian Stollman and accom-
panied by Sonny Lipenholtz,
will perform. The choir will
sing a medley of songs in
Hebrew, Yiddish and English.
Refreshments will be served
following the performance.
The book, Kitty, by Kitty
Carlisle Hart will be review-
ed by Frances Weinberg on
Tuesday at 11 a.m. in room 4.
The series, "Let's Talk to
Jewish Leaders New to Our
Conimunity," will present
Ofra Fisher, exeuctive direc-
tor of the United Hebrew
Schools on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
in the asembly hall.

The Jewish Historical
Society of Michigan will hold
its annual luncheon on June
11 at noon in the
Maple/Drake JewishCom-
munity Center.
Irwin Cohen will show his
slides and speak about the
origins of the Detroit Jewish
community from its beginn-
ing until the 1940s.
