MEMORIAL DAY *WEEKEND SPECIAL * * Arts Festival In Southfield • The Southfield Arts Coun- cil will present Festival '89 June 3 and 4 at the Southfield Civic Center pavilion. The June 3 enterainment schedule will feature pianist/ composer Stephen Becker at 11 a.m.; Wizzy the Wizard magic show at noon; Fairlane Youth Chamber Music Guild at 1 p.m.; the Talmadge Turner Chorale at 2:30 p.m. and the Scandinavian Sym- phony with the David Jorlett Chorale at 5 p.m. The June 4 schedule will kick off with folk singer/ guitarist Rhoda Wallace at noon; the Wayne Andrews Barbershop Chorus at 1 p.m.; Macomb Community College Magic Company at 2 p.m.; the Madrigal Chorale at 3:30 p.m.; and students from the Stevenson Elementary School at 4:30 p.m. The arts festival also will feature food booths, a juried arts exhibition, clowns, hot- air balloons and a children's activity area. Rachel Urist's The Three Wishes will be presented by the Young People's Theater June 10, 11, 17, 18, 24 and 25 in the Ann Arbor Civic Theater Building, 1035 Main, Ann Arbor. The opening performance will be at 4 p.m. June 10 with a champagne and dessert afterglow. Urist's plays have been pro- duced at the Performance Network and the Ann Arbor Civic Theater. Her F.S. Drama Award-winning play, Shtetl Tales, was produced at the Young People's Theater in 1986 and its production as a musical is now in the works in New York. Humanities Class In OP The Oak Park recreation department outreach office will present a summer humanities class beginning June 14.
