In truth; shared domestic tasks are not at the bottom of the list in the Gordon household. "When I got married, we both worked outside the home; she did.all the cooking and cleaning and shopping. It seemed like a good arrange- ment to me. I was socialized this way .. . I was busy, until one day, not too long after our marriage, she said: 'I'm busy too; how would you like to have a divorce?' It took me five minutes to rearrange my schedule. Unlik some men, I still don't like to cook and shop and clean and do any of these things but I'm doing them because I have an asser- tive wife and I don't want her to become aggressive?' Gordon, who dedicated his 15th book, Why Love Is Not Enough, to his wife Judith, wrote: "My marriage to Judith was the best thing that ever happened to me and it's still happening." He also wrote: "I hope that when we celebrate our 50th anniver- sary together (in 15 years), we'll look up and say to each other, "I still like you." ❑ Na'amat Hosts Member Lunch Greater Detroit Council of Na'amat/USA will have a luncheon honoring new members, new life members and their sponsors on Thurs- day at noon in the Sutton Place club house, 23275 Riverside Dr., Southfield.
