'Midsummer' At

Oakland University and
Oakland Community College
Orchard Ridge campus will
present Shakespeare's A Mid-
summer Night's Dream, 8
p.m. today, Saturday, May 19
and May 20 at Oakland
University's Studio Theater.
There will be a 2 p.m. perfor-
mance Sunday and May 21.
The show also will be
presented at Oakland Com-
munity College's Smith
Theater 3 p.m. May 24 and 8
p.m. May 25.
The production will be
directed by T. Andrew Aston,
of Oakland University's
music, theater and dance
department. Aston first
directed A Midsummer
Night's Dream at Oakland
University 25 years ago in the
university's first fully-staged
production.

Photo Workshop

Photographer/teacher/wri-
ter Monte Nagler will con-
duct a photography workshop
and seminar for Cranbrook
P.M. participants at 7 p.m.
Thursday.
An outdoor workshop under
Nagler's guidance will be con-
ducted at 12:30 . p.m. May 20.
A final critiquing session at
7 p.m. June 1 will provide op-
portunities for questions and
answers. Included also will be
judging of students' photo-
graphs, providing a practical
learning experience.

Season Finale

The Detroit Film Theater
(DFT) winds down its 15th an-
niversary season with the
new French film Chocolat at
the Detroit Institute of Arts
auditorium today and Satur-
day at 7 and 9:30 p.m.
In the film, Director Claire
Denis, who lived in the heart
of W _ est Africa until the age of
14, shares her memories of
colonial Africa during the
1950s through the eyes of a
young French female
character called France.
