Youth Shabbat
Is Slated
Beth Abraham Hillel Moses
Religious School will hold its
annual Youth Shabbat Ser-
vice Saturday at the
synagogue.
Under the supervision of
Barry Levine, director of
education and youth, the ser-
vice will feature high school
youths reading the Torah por-
tion, chanting the haftara
and presenting a d'var Torah.
Various sections of the service
will be led by members of the
religious school and children
who attend area day schools.
A special girls' choir will be
featured, as well as the
children's choir of the
synagogue. Cantor Ben-Zion
Lanxner and Joseph
Mermelstein helped the
children prepare for the
event.
A luncheon sponsored by
the PTO will follow the ser-
vice. There is a charge for the
luncheon and reservations
are required. For information,
call the synagogue office,

ly Shabbat dinner this even-
ing following a family service.
Miriam Meyers, a teacher
in Beth Hayeled, will be
honored for 35 years of service
to the nursery school. Atten-
ding the dinner will be
parents who were her
students and whose children
are now students at Beth
Hayeled.
Students in Congregation
Beth Shalom's religious
school 12th grade class will
participate in services 9 a.m.
Saturday.
Randee Carp, who helped
organize the student drive to
have a 12th grade class at the
religious school, will speak.
She will discuss the contribu-
tions of each student in the
class.
