The event will celebrate Rabbi Weiss' 25 years in the rabbinate, 10 years at Ibmple Beth Jacob and his honorary degree of doctor of divinity which he was recently award- ed by the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion. The dinner will be preced- ed by an optional tour of the mansion at 5 p.m., and cocktails and hors d'ouevres at 6 p.m. After the dinner, Steven Fish, past president of the temple, will act as master of ceremonies. The program wilinclude musical selections by Beverly Stief, soprano soloist of Beth Jacob, accompanied by Charles Wilson, the temple's musical director and organist. Rabbi Weiss has served on the board of the Pontiac- Oakland Symphony Or- chetra; the advisory commit- tee of St. Joseph-Mercy Hospital; Planned Paren- thood advisory committee; board of governors and Social Action Committee, B'nai B'rith Hillel Foundation at Wayne State University; the Orchards, placing Jewish children in Jewish foster homes; the education commit- tee of the Yavneh Reform Jewish Day School; and on the board of the Pontiac Area Transitional Housing Project. He also has served on the board of governors of the Col- lege of Jewish Studies and as chaplain at the Oakland County Medical Facility, Pon- tiac General Hospital and the Prentis Manor Nursing Home. He runs a monthly Rabbi Richard Weiss program for Jewish patients and others at Clinton Valley Mental Hospital. T'chiyah Hosts Rabbi Levenson Rabbi Amy Zweiback Levenson, Midwest regional director of the Federation of Reconstructionist Congrega- tions and Havurot (FRCH), will pseak on "Meaningful Creative Services" 10 a.m. Saturday at Congregation T'chiyah. Services will be followed by a dairy potluck lunch. In the afternoon, Rabbi Levenson will present a workshop on the Reconstructionist Move- ment. The public is invited to both sessions. Rabbi Levenson is a graduate of the Reconstruc- tionist Rabbinical College in Wyncote, Pa. In addition to her FRCH responsibilities, Rabbi Leven- son serves as rabbi of B'nai Yisrael Reconstructionist Congregation in South Bend, Ind.
