in the building. Rossen notes there
are other Jewish residents in water-
front apartments.
The private drive on Jefferson Ave.

doors where the doorman greets
them. The elevator man then takes
guests to the appropriate floor. "The
security is really good here," says
Rossen. "It's very pleasant and I've
never had any problems," he adds.

bortown market, the valet brings his
car from the heated garage to the
front door.
Recreational facilities in downtown
are plentiful. Bicycling along Belle Isle
and dining at elegant restaurants are
close by pleasures.
Rossen's 35-ft. sail boat com-
plements his downtown lifestyle. He
is an avid boater and waterfront liv-
ing provides easy access. The Detroit
Yacht Club and Detroit Boat Club are
nearby. Since the Detroit River is his
backyard, practicing for the
Mackinac races is no problem. "It's
great being a boater and living here,"
says Rossen. And when he's not sail-
ing, he can watch the barges through
his living room window.
"I don't know E. city where you can
live right on the water." Rossen
believes that comparable apartments
in New York City or Chicago would
be over one million dollars.
Rossen's 2800 sq. ft. condo has
sorne features that reflect the era in
which it was built — oak floors, wet
plaster, 11 ft. ceilings, a natural
fireplace and Pewabic tile.
