Dr. Sidney Bolkosky will speak on "Against Forgetting: Some Reflections On How and Why To Recall The Holocaust." Bolkosky was educated at the University of Rochester, Wayne State University and the State University of New York at Binghamton. He has directed the University of Michigan - Dearborn western culture program, taught in- terdisciplinary courses on a wide variety of subjects rang- ing from the ancient Near East to the Holocaust. In 1975, he received the UM-D Distinguished Teaching Award, and in 1986 the Distinguished Faculty Award from the Michigan Associa- tion of Governing Boards. He co-authored "A Holocaust Curriculum: Life Unworthy of Life." As of January 1987, Bolkosky has Dr. Sid Bolkosky been at work on the second volume in the history of the Jews of Detroit for Wayne State University Press and the Jewish Welfare Federation. Dr. Sol Gordon To Speak At SZ Women's World Psychologist, lecturer, author and humorist, Dr. Sol Gordon, will speak on "Why Love Is Not Enough" at Shaarey Zedek Sisterhood's annual Women's World event on May 10. Hours for Women's World are: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the synagogue. In addition to writing and lecturing, Dr. Gordon has ap- peared on the "Today" and "Phil Donahue" shows "Good Morning America" and "60 Minutes." He taught at Syracuse University where he founded the university's institute for Family Research and Education. He is pro- fessor emeritus of child and family studies.
