The Avondale Fine Arts
Council will conduct a fund-
raising art auction on Satur-
day at 7 p.m.
The Oxford Art Galleries
of Detroit will conduct the
auction in the ballroom
of Meadow Brook Hall at
Oakland University in
Rochester.
The public is invited. The
auction will include many
original pencil-signed,
limited edition lithographs,
etchings, serigraphs and
other graphics and oils and
watercolors by Dali,
Rockwell, Vickers, Calder,
Neiman, Vasarely, Alvar,
Chan, Miro, Appel, King, Kel-
ly, Picasso, Boulanger,
Bomberger, Renoir, Rem-
ington, Moskowitz, Agam,
Zapp, Burger and others.

A cancer research fund has
been established at Bar-Ilan
University in memory of
Eugene S. Simon by his
family.
Mr. Simon was a manufac-
turer's representative in the
furniture industry, and was a
long-time member of Detriot's
Furniture Club. He was a
great-grandson of Marcus
Cohen, who conducted the
first Jewish religious services
in Detroit, and was in-
strumental in the formation
of Temple Beth El, in which
his family remains active to
this day.
