Mr. Burnstein was a past president of the Greater Detroiter General Agents and Managers Association and won many awards from the General Agents and Managers Committee. He supported Henry Ford Hospital's cardiac rehabilita- tion department, McGill University in Montreal, Que., the Juvenile Diabetes Foun- dation and the Children's Leukemia Foundation. He leaves his wife, Ellen; two sons, Dr. Mark of Madison, Wis., and Dr. Alan of Thronto, Ont.; a daughter, Linda of San Francisco; a brother, Burton; three sisters, Mrs. Sallan (Ethel) Lurie, Mrs. Nat (Dorothy) Rosenberg and Mrs. Norman (Mildred) Bazell. Albert Glassman Albert (Abby) Glassman, part owner of U.S. Lumber Co., died April 16 at age 85. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Mr. Glassman lived all of his life in Detroit. He was af- filiated with the lumber com- pany for 51 years. He was a member of Pisgah Lodge of B'nai B'rith for 50 years, a member of the Moslem Temple for 35 years and Craftsman Lodge of the Masons. He is survived by two sons, Raymond of Coveta Fuma, Spain, and S. Mitchell of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Martin of Miami, Fla., Samuel and Harvey; a sister, Freda Rubenstein; four grandchildren and one great-grandson. Sylvia Danto Sylvia K. Danto, past presi- dent of the 'Temple Israel Sisterhood, died at age 87. Born in Lakeview, Mich., Mrs. Danto resided in Fuller- ton, Calif., at the time of her death. While in Detroit, she and her late husband were among the founding members of Temple Israel. She also was president of the League of Jewish Women's Organiza- tions and a member of the National Board of Temple Sisterhoods. She also was in- volved in the March of Dimes, Greater Detroit Interfaith Roundtable of the National Conference of Christians and Jews and was involved in the Michigan Mother of the Year selections. Mrs. Danto was active on a national scale in the National Council of Jewish Women. She and her husband, Samuel, were active in Democratic Party politics and worked on the campaigns of Goys. G. Mennen Williams and John Swainson, and on that of the late Sen. Philip Hart. She wrote a regular col- umn in the downtown Detroit Monitor and was a member of Michigan Press Women and the Detroit Press Club. When she and her husband moved to South Pasadena, Fla., she taught seminars for women on retirement at Tem- ple Beth El there. Following her husband's death she mov- ed to California. She is survived by two sons, Dr. Arthur C. of New York and Dr. Bruce L. of Fullerton, Calif.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Delphine Lee Delphine Rosilyn Lee, past president of the Harry B. Keidan Chapter of B'nai B'rith, died March 30 at age 72. A resident of Phoenix, Ariz., at the time of her death, Mrs. Lee was a member of Hadassah, Women's American ORT and . Congregation Beth Achim Sisterhood. She is survived by a son, Dr.' Marc; a daughter, Helaine; three brothers Sanford Baron, Frederick Baron and: , Lawrence Baron; and three„ granddaughters. Leonard Teicher Leonard Teicher, an at- torney and former Southfield mayoral candidate, died April 18 at age 54. Born in Detroit, Mr. Teicher was graduated from Wayne State University and its law school. He was in private practice in Berkley and later moved his offices to Franklin. He was a member of the Michigan Bar Association, the Jewish Parents Institute. Mr. Thicher used to conduct a tour of "Jewish Detroit" under the auspices of the Jewish Community Center. He was involved in Southfield politics and ran for mayor of Southfield in 1973 and sat on the Southfield School Board from 1971 through 1976. Mr. Teicher is survived by his wife, Debra; two sons, Noah of Sausalito, Calif., and Joshua; a daughter, Laura of Haslett, Mich.; and two nephews. During the coming week Yeshiva Beth Yehudah will observe the yahrzeits of the following departed friends, with the traditional memorial prayers, recitation of kaddish and studying of mishnayos.
