For Passover

In celebration of Passover, .
three new videos have been
released: "A Brivele Der
Mamen," "Passover Adven-
ture" and "The Four Sons: A
Guide to Passover."
In "A Brivele Der Mamen"
(A Letter to Mother), one of
the last Yiddish movies to be
produced in Poland, film-
maker Joseph Green uses the
Passover seder as a backdrop
to highlight the absence of
the father who has just left for
America in search of a better
life.
"The Four Sons: A Guide to
Passover" is a step-by-step
guide on how to conduct the
traditional Passover seder.
In "Passover Adventure," a
good humored Israeli guide,
Haggadah in hand, leads us
on a trip through the desert
where he retraces the route of
the exodus from Egypt.

Another new video stars
Theodore Bikel in three
original video plays of Jewish
life.
The half-hour videos are
produced by WJTJF of the
Jewish Federation of
Metropolitan Chicago and
published by Ergo Media.
The videos focus on the Sab-
bath, Passover and Jewish
ritual items. They also are
available from Ergo.

Ferndale High
Sets 'Joseph'

Ferndale High School will
present Andrew Lloyd-
Webber's first play, Joseph
and His Magic Technicolor
Dreamcoat, as its spring
musical. Included in the cast
are Miriam Shor, as one of the
two narrators, and Gabriel
Bolkosky, as Joseph.
It opens 8 p.m. Saturday at
Ferndale High School
Auditorium, 881 Pinecrest.
Subsequent shows are 3 p.m.
Sunday, 8 p.m. April 21 and
22 and 3 p.m. April 23. There
is a nominal charge.

Holocaust
Video Released

A new release on video,
"Faith Amid the Flames," is
the first film ever produced to
address the role of Orthodox
Jews during the Holocaust.
The film, on VHS, will soon
be available in bookstores. It
is a Lubicom production. For
