Career Day will be held 9
a.m. Sunday at the United
Hebrew Schools building.
This program, co-sponsored
by Fresh Air Society, Jewish
Association for Retarded
Citizens, Jewish Community
Center, Jewish Community .
Council, Jewish Family Ser-
vice, Jewish Federation
Apartments, Jewish Home for
Aged, Jewish Vocational Ser-
vice, Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion, Ira Kaufman Chapel,
Michigan Board of Rabbis,
National Council of Jewish
Women, Sinai Hospital and
United Hebrew Schools/Mid-
rasha College of Jewish
Studies, will feature an oppor-
tunity to discover career op-
portunities in the Jewish
community.
There will be information
regarding job openings,
salaries, benefits, college
scholarship programs and
summer internships.
A panel will discuss
"Career Opportunities in the
Jewish Community: What's
in It for Me?" Panelists in-
clude Dr. Lew Hamburger,
Rabbi David Nelson, Heidi
Press, Claudia Gold and
Margaret Weiner.
Hamburger is the associate
executive director of the
Fresh Air Society.
Rabbi Nelson of Congrega-
tion Beth Shalom has served
as its rabbi since 1972. He is
president of the Michigan
Board of Rabbis and president
of the Conservative Rabbis of
Metropolitan Detroit.
Press, news editor of The
Jewish News, joined the
Jewish News in 1972 as an
editorial assistant. She has
since held the positions of

associate news editor, assis-
tant news editor and local
news editor.
Gold is a member of the na-
tional affairs community ser-
vices committee and national
children and youth task force
of the National Council of
Jewish Women. She serves as
the executive director of the
Alliance for Mental Health
Services.
Weiner is director of profes-
sional services of the Jewish
Family Service and Resettle-
ment Service.
The Jewish Career Day is
open to the public free of
charge.

Education Talk
At Midrasha

The Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies, a division of
United Hebrew Schools, will
present the third lecture in
the series entitled, "Lunch
and Learn Series: Torah
Li'Shma — Learning for the
Sake of Learning," on
Wednesday.
Rabbi Bruce D. Aft, director
of the Midrasha-College of
Jewish Studies and principal
of the Community Jewish
High School of United
Hebrew Schools, will speak
on "Jewish Education."
On May 10, the last lecture
of the series will include a
discussion on "Ethics" by
Rabbi Aft.
The series meets at noon for
lunch and the lecture is held
at 12:30 p.m., in the John and
Rose Herman Board Room of
the UHS. There is a charge,
and the series is open to the
