Pesach Fund
Aids Needy

The Moies Chetim organ-
ization of Detroit announced
that it will distribute
Passover matzah and kosher
wine to needy Jewish families
in the Detroit area again this
year.
The organization fulfills the
obligations in the Passover
seder service "Let all those
who are hungry come and
eat."
The non-profit group ex-
pects to serve more than 500
individual families and 100
Jewish nursing homes
patients.
Distribution will be at a
local synagogue prior to
Passover which begins on
April 19.
The organization was
founded in 1922 by Louis
Smith, a food wholesaler in
the Eastern Market. The food
to be distributed is purchas-
ed with donations.

The Weizmann League of
the Detroit Committee for the
Weizmann Institute of
Science announces Murray B.
Koffler, Canadian en-
trepreneur and philan-
thropist, will attend the
league dinner on April 17 at
restaurant.
Koffler assumed the chair-
manship of the international
board of governors of the
Weizmann Institute in
November 1987. He has long
been a leading force behind
the Canadian Society for
Weizmann. The landmark
atomic accelerator on the
campus in Rehovot, Israel, is
named in his honor.
