dance and song. The UHS
Troy branch will conduct its
model seder April 9; the Adat
Shalom branch on April 11,
12 and 16; Beth Achim and
the UHS Nursery School,
April 13; and B'nai Israel and
the Novi branch will have a
joint model seder at B'nai
Israel April 16. The UHS
special education class seder
is also on that day. Younger
children from all branches
will visit the Maple/Drake
Jewish Community Center
for matzah baking.
The Jimmy Prentis Morris
Jewish Community Center
will host an intergenerational
Passover workshop and model
seder April 14. The senior
adults will help the nursery
school children prepare food
for the seder and decorate the
showcase in the lobby with
Passover objects made by the
children. Cantor Samuel
Greenbaum of Congregation
Beth Shalom will conduct the
seder.
Senior adults in the com-
munity are invited to a third
seder at the JPM Center
April 24. The seder will be
conducted mostly in Yiddish
by Cantor Sidney Resnick,
who will be accompanied by
Lillian Zellman.
At the Maple/Drake Jewish
Community Center, a model
seder for 100 individuals with
special needs will be held
April 13.
Jewish Vocational Service's
40 Project Outreach clients
will attend a seder with 150
persons with disabilities and
elderly Detroiters who live in
isolation apart from the
Jewish community. The seder,
sponsored by the Cooperative
Council of the League of
Jewish Women, will take
place April 24 at the Jewish
Community Center in West
Bloomfield. As in previous
years, Rabbi and Mrs.
Solomon H. Gruskin have
been instrumental in plann-
ing and organizing the seder.
For JVS clients in the Ac-
tivities of Daily Living pro-
gram, the staff will teach
them to prepare special
Passover recipes so they can
observe the holiday.
Sinai Hospital will serve
kosher-for-Passover meals to
all Jewish patients. Seder
plates will be distributed on
the first two nights, with
Hagaddot provided through
Sinai's pastoral care
department.
On April 23, residents of
Borman Hall will enjoy a
Passover tea and afternoon of
socializing with the Jewish
Welfare Federation's Young
Adult Division Volunteer
Committee.
