Belle Steinberg, who joined
Congregation Shaarey Zedek
in 1912 together with her late
husband, Julius Steinberg,
will be honored at the annual
meeting of the congregation
on April 10.
Mrs. Steinberg, 101, has the
distinction of 77 years of con-
tinuous affiliation with
Shaarey Zedek. When she
joined, the synagogue was
located on Winder Street and
a year later, the cornerstone
was laid for the synagogue
bulding at Brush and Willis.
Mrs. Steinberg is a long-
time member of Hadassah,
which she joined at its foun-
ding. The women's Zionist
organization awarded her
many honors for her
leadership.
Her other organizational
involvements include Na-
tional Council of Jewish
Women and Women's
American ORT.

woman, Mrs. Steinberg co-
