lthough its prime pur-
pose is social, more
than a dozen couple
have become wed after
meeting at Singles Extension
affairs.
Activities of this fine group,
50 and over, sponsored by
Temple Israel, go from bowl-
ing to bridge to dance lessons
to poker to pan to travel to
discussions to ethnic dining
to choral to theater, etc.
Hard to believe Singles Ex-
tension is only a couple years
old and already with about
500 or so members . . . It is
considered one of the nation's
top singles organizations
because of its continuous ar-
ray of activities for members.
In other words, Singles Ex-
tension adds up to one big
thing . . . fun in togetherness.
CONGRATS ... to Sharon
Ogravitz . . . on her birthday
. . . Also to Lauren Ogrovitz
. . . on her second birthday .. .
The daughter and grand-
daughter of Bernice and Al
Kesner celebrate their birth-
days a week apart.
HAROLD BURKE,
Knights of Pythias supreme
chancellor of the world
(United States, Canada,
Israel and Hawaii) will be
here with wife Polly to attend
the K of P Detroit 55 dinner-
dance, April 15 at Furniture
Club, and receive a life
membership in the lodge .. .
Harold was chancellor com-
mander of the Sturgis Lodge
and Knights of Pythias grand
chancellor of the State of
Michigan .. . He is a good
friend of Detroit Lodge.
REUNION DEPT. . . . Oak
Park High class of 1979 is
looking for grads . . . Its get-
together is Nov. 25 . . . Con-
tact Cathy (Davis) Lubanski,
661-9759.
ANOTHER LOOK into
the future . . . with computer-
based design system that
allows store personnel to
help consumers in creating
three-dimensional designs for
home improvement . . . The
Wyerhaeuser DesignCenter
is installed in participating
home centers and lumber
yards is a big boon to do-it-
yourselfers with designs
rotated and looked at from
any angle, top, side,
underneath or three-quarter
view . . . Entire process for
decks, as example, takes just
minutes . . . and consumers
can then buy all materials
necesary on their list.
AD AGENCY Dept. ..

First satellite office by Robert
Solomon & Associates has
been opened in San Diego,
Calif. . . . RS&A is a 34-year-
old local agency specializing
in food service, retail and
entertainment marketing
and promotion.
J.P. MCCARTHY of WJR
Radio and Detroit Free Press'
Bob Talbert have their usual
losers . . . as does comedian
Joey Adams, who says, "A
loser is a guy who wrecks his
automobile while driving
home from the bank after
making his final car pay-
ment, or someone who gets a
paper cut from a get-well
card."
Rodney Dangerfield made a
fortune being a loser, says
Joey. "I had a terrible child-
hood," according to Rodney.
"My parents didn't want me
around. Other parents
punished their kids for sneak-

A 50-and-over fun
group's activities
have led to some
longer-term
relationships and
an organization
that boasts more

in just a few years,

ing out of the house. Mine
punished me for staying
home" . . . Rodney says the
first time he went to the
beach, his dad gave the
lifeguard $5 to keep an eye off
him.
Joey's friend, Steve Mittle-
man, admits he's a loser .. .
"I'm the kind of guy whose
twin sister forgets his birth-
day."
Here are some more who
Joey Adams qualifies as
losers . . . The daughter who
was told by her mother, "You
should be ashamed of yourself
— all your girlfriends are
divorced already and you're
not even married." . . . Then
there was the Japanese call
girl who went broke because
no one had a yen for her.
DON'T FORGET to drive
carefully, wear your seat belt,
and get a ticket from a
Southfield or West Bloomfield
cop . . . It's actually a cer-
tificate to have a free car
wash from Jax Kar Wash .. .
through April 20.
LOOKING BACK on Col-
umns of yesteryears .. .
OCT. 4, 1974 ... "Signing
In Dept." . . . Seen by Irving
Rogovin in the window of an
outstate billiard parlor .. .
`Try our indoor pool.' "
