Gail Frederick has been
selected as the sports director
of Camp Maas for this sum-
mer. Camp Maas is sponsored
by the Fresh Air Society for
boys and girls entering
sixth-10th grades.
She will direct the new
sports camp program and
supervise the sports specialty
program. Frederick has a B.S.
degree in recreation and
youth leadership from
Michigan State University,
and a B.A. degree in physical
education from Eastern
Michigan University. She
coaches tennis at Troy High
School.
A new 26-day sports camp
program is intended for boys
and girls entering sixth and
seventh grades. Housed in a
separate village, the par-
ticipants spend half the day
in a variety of sports ac-
tivities including soccer,
softball, basketball and ten-
ths. The sports camp begins
June 25.
An informational meeting
about the sports camp will
be held on April 16 at
2 p.m. at the Jewish Com-
munity Center (Maple/
Drake), room 327.
The 26-day sports specialty
program at Camp Maas is in-
tended for teens entering
ninth and 10th grades. The
sports specialty program is
one of five specialty areas
open to campers in the co-ed
Specialty Village. Two ses-
sions are offered beginning
June 25 and July 25.
The Fresh Air Society

Gail Frederick

nis courts will be resurfaced
and relined, while new sod,

benches, bleachers, new
lighting and water fountains
will be added.
The Joseph 0. Grant
Athletic Field, located near
Fishman Village, will also be
renovated in the coming
years.
Limited spaces are still
available for all the sports
programs. For information,
call Fresh Air, 661-CAMP.
