strong clear tangerine and ruby reds.
Blotting lips is in.
• Hair pulled back into a
sophisticated style calls for a classic
makeup look.
• Hair worn down in a casual
way calls for a casual application of
makeup and toned-down pastels and
earth tones.
• Short or mid-length bobs call
for the 1960s looks in makeup.
These are stronger definition of
eyeliner, light lips, and pale
eyeshadow contrasting with the
shading or contouring color.
• Unswept, young, party looks
for teens and early twenties call for
the use of color on the eyes and a
brighter palette. Try teal, salmon,
gold, violets; a soft blush; and light
but bright lip tones.

Do's And Don'ts:

• Do experiment with a new
look.
• Do use rich tones on the
mouth and muted colors on the eyes
when wearing black.
• Do emphasize the color of
your eyes.
• Don't use obviously pearlized
eyeshadow if you are over 40. It is
reflective.
• Don't wear your blush high
on the cheekbone.
• Do use a pencil lipliner for
identification and correction.
• Do use a makeup sponge to
apply base.
• Don't use white or pearlized
underbrow highlighters; they date
you.
• Do have earrings ready to
complement your looks. They add
drama and style.
